The Live Oak will grow to 60 to 80 feet high and have a 60-120 feet spread. The Live Oak tree is usually pest free. On occasion mites infest the foliage but they usually have no affect on the rest of the landscape. The Live Oak tree has high drought resistance and grows well  in full or part sun. After the first three years, a Live Oak only needs to be pruned every five years. A young Live Oak grows three feet per year and the trunk adds about an inch in diameter.
